CHESTERFIELD LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING

July 15, 2008
CHESTERFIELD, NH

Present:

Jane Anderson, Lee Brockmann, Karen LaRue, Karen Guyette, Ed Cheever, Judy Koopmann, Josh Goldberg, Catherine Weil, Selectman Jon McKeon. Absent: Kevin Breslend.

  1. Call to order: 7:32 p.m.

  1. Secretary’s Report:

Motion to approve June 17 minutes by Brockmann, 2nd by Guyette. Approved and placed on file.

  1. Treasurer’s Report: 

All in line. Report on file.

  1. Technology:

  1. Tech committee report:

There is a need for more electrical outlets near the back tables for laptop use. Anderson will get estimate from Gary Winn. The new pc’s have gotten good feedback from patrons. Minor adjustments are being made re patrons’ suggestions. The power audit will be done soon.

  1. Website:

Cynthia Waters and Anderson will work together on the remaining content needed to complete the website.

  1. Tech Plan 2008/09:

LaRue distributed the first draft. Comments were noted and an edited plan will be ready for next month’s meeting.

  1. Policies (to work on):

  1. Disaster plan: 

No report

  1. Seven-year plan:

Anderson is completing the list and accompanying costs.

  1. Old Business:

  1. Silent auction:

Trustees are soliciting items. The auction has an August 1 start date.

  1. Book sale proceeds:

Proceeds this year to date total $498.

  1. Painting project:

Goldberg is soliciting bids, focusing on local companies.

  1. Credit/debit card:

No report.

  1. SRP programs:

82 children have signed up. Programs so far have been good and well attended.

  1. New Business:

  1. State report due 7/25:

Anderson is working on it.

  1. b. Winnabago contract:

Cost of annual contract is $450. Anderson will consult with Gallucio whether we need to purchase it since he has downloaded all the support documents and we have not needed to call Winnabago for support.

  1. Old computers:

Will be given to interested parties since they are not worth selling and it would cost money to dispose of them.

  1. Children’s garden/skateboarders:

Anderson reported recent graffiti painted on Library Hours sign and unpleasant litter in the Children’s Garden. She has alerted Duane Chickering so police will increase their surveillance. Skateboarders do use the parking lot during off hours.

  1. Friend’s Group report/programs:

  1. August 16 pie sale:

Fundraiser at the annual town corn roast.

  1. Memberships being sent out:

Should be in the mail soon.

  1. Other:

Anderson and Brockmann will work on paperwork for nomination of Jane Allen for a municipal volunteer award.

  1. Public comment:
