CHESTERFIELD LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING

January 19, 2008

CHESTERFIELD, NH

Present:

Jane Anderson, Judy Koopmann, Amanda Fryberger, Lee Brockmann, Josh Goldberg, Karen LaRue 

Absent: 

Kevin Bresland; Jean Hansen

  1. Call to order:  

7:45 p.m. 

  1. Secretary’s Report:  

Report on file. Fryberger motioned, LaRue 2nd. All agreed.

  1. Treasurer’s Report:  

Placed on file. Discussed children’s books from last month. It was a large order.

  1. Technology:

  1. Tech. committee report: New equipment: 

Bresland bought 2 monitors & 1 printer. Computer 5 has conked out. Bresland & Goldberg will get together to get the rest of the P.C.s and Tech. Soup from Galluccio.

  1. Website: 

Goldberg spoke to Cynthia re doing the website. He will check with her before our next meeting re how far along she is in constructing it.

  1. Tech Plan 08/09: 

Tech meeting set for 2/11 at Fryberger’s .

  1. Policies (to work on):

  1. Public and school library policy:  

Anderson will contact the school librarian.

  1. Disaster plan:   

Goldberg reported the template is good. He wants everyone to review & populate a diff. section. We reviewed the outline & discussed how to complete & keep it up to date.  Goldberg will email everyone a section & ask Hanson if she wants to be involved.

  1. Old Business:

  1. Budget 2008: (Final results):  

Anderson has updated Carrier as to our finances.

  1. Trustee elections: 

Various people were suggested & will be contacted.

  1. New Business:

  1. Holiday Closings/2008:

July 5th; Dec. 24 (close at 1:00 PM): Dec. 31 (close at 3:00 PM). Motion made by Fryberger, 2nd by Brockmann. Passed.

  1. Alternate trustees:  

Discussed. 

  1. Budget hearing 1/26:  

School at 1:00pm, Town at 3:00 PM. 

  1. Town Report:  

Due 1/31. Anderson has it done.

  1. Year’s events/projects: 

We created a schedule & Anderson will send it around.

  1. Friend’s Group report/programs: 

They have decided to do 6 programs/year.

  1. Authors’ contest:  

Ends the end of January. 

  1. New programs: 

Turn off TV; Plant Swap-Annual Meeting-May; SRP kickoff-June-July; Pie sale- Aug; Zelda Donovan-Craft night-Dec; Also Nov. Election bake sale.  They want a library wish list. Computer games were suggested. We need others.

  1. Other:   

Barbara Moro, a Spofford summer resident, passed away. She loved the Library & her neighbors & friends send $$ for a memorial in her name. Fryberger motioned that we accept the $$ and LaRue 2nd. Passed.  

  1. Public comment:
