CHESTERFIELD LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING

JUNE 19, 2007

CHESTERFIELD, NH

Present:

Jane Anderson , Judy Koopmann, Josh Goldberg, Jean Hanson , Amanda Fryberger, Karen LaRue , Kevin Breslend

  1. Call to order:  

7:35 p.m.

  1. Secretary’s Report:  

May 15th minutes approved: moved by Breslend, 2nd by LaRue.

  1. Treasurer’s Report:  

Fryberger reported all is on target.

4.  Technology:

  1. Tech committee report: 

No response from Stewart re other websites he’s designed. Cynthia Waters has offered to design a new website-perhaps Stewart can update. Anderson likes Hamstead Library’s site. Motion by Fryberger, 2nd by Goldberg to have music on our website turned off. Goldberg and Breslend will meet with Gallucio before next meeting.  Goldberg investigated SAU29’s set-up- a WAN that might be a model for our Chesterfield group. Our tech plan needs to be finished and sent to state.

  1. Tech. plan/Ocean Bank grant:  

No response from bank yet.

  1. Policies:

  1. Public and school library policy:  

Anderson showed some samples.  Andersen will contact Principal D’Eon re opportunities for more cooperation and information from teachers about library resources for their curriculum.

  1. Disaster plan:  

Need to write one (after several earlier attempts.) Northeast Documents has template on their website.  Breslend and Brockmann will work on it.

  1. Old Business:

  1. Video shelving:  

Donation from a patron will allow complete project to be done.

  1. Grounds/ bldg. maintenance:

Sylvia Muir is volunteering 15 hours in the garden. 

  1. SRP schedule complete:  

“Wildlife Encounters” kick off went well.   Anderson has lined up a great list of programs in keeping with the “Reading Road Trip” theme including Steve Blunt’s “Stories for the Road”, vintage cars, talks about planes, Alaska , a train ride, and a Hawaiian party at the end.

7. New Business:

  1. Accept donation: 

James Stoff donated $1,000 to be used to complete the video shelving project, with any leftover money to be used as we see fit.  Motion to accept donation by LaRue, 2nd by Fryberger.

  1. Trustees Association dues: 

All have been paid and info updated.

  1. Summer book sale:  

To be held July 7 – day of Westmorland Town Band concert.

  1. Silent Auction:  

Donations needed.  Bidding begins August 1.  LaRue will do a list of businesses to solicit donations.

  1. Friend’s Group report/programs:

  1. Wildlife Encounters – 6/7

  1. Fall/winter programming/newsletter:  

Anderson is looking into program featuring “bat man”.

  1. Pie sale:

At Corn Roast on August 18.

  1. Other: 

Carrier wants to know if 1,000 gallons of oil is enough for next winter’s library needs so he can do town prebuy plan. Trustees agreed it was.

  1. Public comment:
